Our History
Since 1965
Kokstad Primary School has taught generations of East Griqualand families since 1965. The original stone-and-plaster classrooms are still in daily use alongside newer blocks and a resource centre.
About
Kokstad Primary School teaches Grade R to Grade 7 learners drawn from town and the surrounding farms. Small classes, a strong reading programme and a full sports calendar define school life here.

A word from the Principal
Our size is our advantage. Teachers know every child by name, know their families, and notice quickly when something is wrong. That is how a primary school should work.
“Let There Be Light reflects our commitment to helping every learner grow in knowledge, character and confidence. We expect our learners to arrive ready, to read every day, and to represent the school properly whether they are in a classroom, on a field or in a taxi on the way home.”
